Hot- dip galvanized (GI)

Hot- dip galvanized steel sheet (GI) is a form of galvanization of galvanization. It is the process of coating iron, steel, or aluminum with a thin zinc layer, by passing the metal through a molten bath of zinc at a temperature of around 460oC. when exposed to the atmosphere, the pure zinc react with oxygen to form zinc oxide, which future reacts with carbon dioxide to form zinc carbonate a usually dull gray, fairly strong material which stops further corrosion in many circumstances.
